Alex Riesco

Alejandro (Alex) completed his Veterinary Medicine degree at the University of León (Spain). Following a rotational internship at Cardenal Herrera University in Valencia, he moved to Ireland, where he completed another rotational internship at UCD Veterinary Hospital in Dublin. He then spent nearly three years in private practice, focusing on critical care and emergency medicine.

In 2018, Alejandro relocated to Australia, where he worked with wildlife and at JCU Veterinary Hospital in emergency and critical care. His passion for neurology led him to join the neurology team in 2020, where he completed a neurology internship. Currently, he is one of the neurology residents under the supervision of Dr. Sam Long at VRH in Melbourne.

Alejandro furthered his expertise by becoming a university expert in veterinary neurology through UCAM and recently completed a postgraduate program in small animal clinical neurology.
