Charles Kuntz

DVM, MS, MACVSc, Diplomate ACVS, ACVS Founding Fellow of Surgical Oncology

Charles graduated with a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from the University of Florida in 1990. He went on to a rotating small animal internship at the Animal Medical Center in New York City. In 1994, he completed a surgical residency and Master’s degree at Virginia Tech. Following that, he did a fellowship in Cardiac Surgery at Auburn University. He became a Diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Surgeons. Charles did an 18 month research fellowship in Surgical Oncology and became an Assistant Professor of Orthopaedic Surgery, both at Colorado State University. In 2004, Charles moved to Australia where he started Southpaws Specialty Surgery for Animals. He was made an ACVS Founding Fellow of Surgical Oncology in 2012 . He currently works at the Melbourne Veterinary Specialist Centre as a senior consultant. His areas of interest include surgical oncology, minimally invasive surgery and neurosurgery. He most enjoys spending time with his wife, three sons, and his Labrador Retriever, Humphrey.
